a start

3

Growing up, I only lived in one city, one house, and one school. I think this had made things a little secure in a way. Perhaps, it made life easier to deal with. It’s like having to live in a box where you know all corners of the world, and when something goes wrong, everything seemed contained and relatively manageable. Eventually we need to go out of that box and explore. But for now, we just have to have the box and get in it. After all it’s time we’ve grown. It’s time we give the turn. Our lives, as parents, are not ours alone.

We’ve always wanted our family to belong to a community: a church we can go to regularly and be a part of, a neighborhood we can grow with, etc. I personally believe that it’s healthy to coexist, and it’s nice to know we could start--in debt to look back at the past and in token of things to come. =)

your growing up years is just exactly the opposite of mine's. but like you, i want something like this -- a place where i could take roots. one home, one school, etc. i never had something like that. you are lucky. =)

i love how you put it : "it’s nice to know we could start--in debt to look back at the past and in token of things to come."

you are very brave, jane. and i am very proud of you.
